The Unknown St. Francis of Assisi

Teresa Tomeo is a syndicated Catholic talk-show host, and motivational speaker with over 40 years of experience in TV, radio, and newspaper. She spent almost 20 of those years working in front of a camera as a reporter and anchor in the Detroit market. In 2000, Teresa left the secular media to start her own speaking and communications company, Teresa Tomeo Communications, LLC. Her daily morning radio program, Catholic Connection, is produced by EWTN’s Global Catholic Radio Network and can be heard on more than 600 domestic and international AM and FM radio affiliates worldwide, including Sirius Satellite Radio. Over the past two decades, Teresa has traveled extensively throughout Italy and has led numerous pilgrimages and tours there. In 2019, she founded T’s Italy, a travel consultation company, along with its website, TravelItalyExpert.com, where she shares insider tips for where to eat, stay, shop, play, and pray. As a journalist, Teresa has covered numerous Italy assignments, including the canonization of several new saints in Rome including John Paul II and Mother Teresa of Calcutta. This gave her a unique understanding of how to navigate the Eternal City, whether one is traveling there as a tourist, or a pilgrim interested in a Papal audience. Teresa is host of the popular Saints in Italy EWTN Learn series and author of more than a dozen books, including her bestselling Italy’s Shrines and Wonders: Discovering Sacred Spaces, Fascinating Places, and Destinations off the Beaten Path (EWTN Publishing). Volume II is Italy’s Shrines and Wonders: Discovering Sacred Spaces and Fascinating Places in the Life of St. Francis of Assisi, which is being released by EWTN Publishing in June 2026.
